Welcome! I'm not sure, but one of the experts will chime in soon (cross fingers).

Can we see a pic if the watch it comes from - no pic, no help! ;)

So does that make it the centre wheel the OP is talking about?

I beleive it's the winding wheel or compensating balance wheel in question...all movements are assembled differently although the parts are similar.....still gathering, and learning along with yah....soon an expert will pop by rest assured.[IMG]

I believe you are looking for the sweep seconds/third wheel on the this movement, though I am not very familiar with 420s . You should be be able to get one cheap here, http://www.julesborel.com
or in your case being in the UK , Cousins maybe be a better alternative.

It's an intermediate wheel which indirectly drives the sweep second hand. What it's actually called by a parts store is another story. It's a separate wheel than any in the train.

A watch with subseconds has the second hand driven directly by the fourth wheel. Center sweep was done a few different ways back then. Normally, I'd link you to a schematic from this site:

    http://www.omega-fanatic.com/pages/omega-movement.php

But the 420 is not listed. :(
