OK, so I've wanted a nice, classic, vintage Omega Seamaster for quite a while. So when the oppurtinty arose, I bought one on an internet auction here in Sweden. I just picked it up and to be honest I'm not sure if I've been ripped off or what. The watch keeps stopping now and then, but continues to tick when I shake it a little. When I remove it from my wrist and lay it on the table it seems to be ticking like it should. Please help me to evaluate whether I should return it or keep it... It's certainly an original dial (meaning the paint and ink has not been refinished). The crown is a replacement. We'd have to see the inside of the case back and movement to tell you any more. How much did you pay?
I bet for Cal 267... But something strange in my eyes, I don't think The hands (hour & Minute) fit for it My guess, the hands belong to Constellation Cal 504..CMIIW
At 1225 Swedish Crowns (about 112 £/182 $) I condsider it a bargain. Shame that it's not working properly though. But judging by the pictures you'd say it's an original and not a knockoff? As I am by no means a wealthy man I'm still not sure whether to service it or to return it/sell it and buy a recently serviced one instead... How much do you think an extensive service might cost? I've heard it can be quite expensive... Thanks for your answers!
