Imagine the most beautiful AT ever made, and if scarcity is material to you, a rather rare one. Now - and this is painful - imagine that it only came in: - quartz and - a diameter several mm less than you would like. Would you still purchase it, and at what price? I love the dial utterly, but struggle to cough up $1100 for a pre-owned non-HEQ quartz with a lightly scratched crystal, considering very little more could get me an auto Seamaster in comparable condition. I assume the quartz in question isn't at all interesting. On the other hand, I haven't decided whether recent Omega auto calibers are worth collecting and/or the premium over vintage ones. Input, please!
Oh alright. I wanted you lot to imagine your favourite AT, not mine. It looks like the 2503.33 (below), but has an MOP dial and comes only in 30mm. I am more accustomed to 33-4mm for dress and 36-7mm for divers. How much would it cost to replace the scratched crystal?
30mm is tiny. I have a small wrist, but even I can't pull off a 30mm. For me, that is the deal breaker
Here you go. I found a close-up of the dial - the very small dial. FYI - my wrists are 6 inches, around 47-50mm on top.
OK, are you guys being just dense? . What is the problem with WD wanting a woman's watch for her woman wrist. She is well aware of the sizes and appearance. My wife for one will only wear a smaller model like this. Lets answer the question without making up knew ones she did not ask.
I do like the colours and I imagine a quartz would be convenient and accurate (not usually high on my list of decision criteria, and I get used to the date being wrong). In fact I have moved away from watches with the date to get round this one! I have heard that quartz watches will only depreciate whereas the auto version may increase in value over time. Though not sure if possible resale value is any sort of decision maker for you. The above and the size would put me off. I suggest you keep searching for the male auto version. As lets face it, the search is half the fun and once you have bought it no matter what size etc, then you move on to the next watch you want and start searching for that.
$1100 is a lot for a pre-owned quartz version of that AT. It's certainly a good watch, but I'd think you could get it for $600 to $750.
Love that dial combination but agree with Dennis here, you can get this. For a lot less. With a bit of diligence this won't be too hard to find at the right price.
Hi whitedot I didnt realise you were female, so my comment on the size is obviously irrelevant. Sorry.
Stick it out... There is always something on the horizon..... Here is it's big brother AT 42.2mm which i have on today.
Yeah, l shall hold out for a better price. You guys did a great job here. Thank you. Kindly link the listing? Cheers! Why can't they make a middle bro! Bet it would sell like hotcakes!
