Hello, I got this Omega watch from a relative, I think it is more than 20 years old, I did not find any information about this watch on the Internet, maybe someone knows what kind of watch it is, first of all, is it a fake or the truth, thank you
Well known counterfeit I'm afraid.
Worth nothing but you could get great enjoyment from throwing it into a metal shredder.
Fake
The tell is the subdials which are not supposed to be counting to 31, 24 and 7 on a chronographs.
Well known counterfeit I'm afraid.
Worth nothing but you could get great enjoyment from throwing it into a metal shredder.
What exactly about this watch tells you that it is a fake?
Многое, но самое очевидное - это дополнительные циферблаты и стрелки.
Такой стиль стрелок никогда не использовался в часах Omega Speedmaster.
Many things, but the most obvious are the subdials and hands.
That hand style has never been used on Omega Speedmasters.
The three subdials (from left to right) are day of week, 24HR time and Date.
This combination is useless on a chronograph which would have, from left to right again:
Running Seconds, Elapsed Hours and Elapsed minutes.
There are other indicators, but these are the most obvious and this watch probably has a Chinese quartz calendar movement.
It’s still fake unfortunately. Look at the hands, the quality of the case and caseback and most obviously, the incorrect day/date rather than chronograph function of the subdials as detailed above.
There’s also no serial number or other defining omega engravings on the back of the lugs like there would be on a genuine speedy which again indicates a fake
As far as I know, the mechanism without batteries, that is, mechanical, stops without winding, the mechanism has been working for more than 20 years, recently it has begun to lag by 4 minutes per day
Crack it open and you'll see it doesn't have an Omega movement.
If you don't have any watchmaker tools, you can't do any damage to the value even if you use a cold chisel and a brick to pop the caseback.
Well known counterfeit I'm afraid.
Worth nothing but you could get great enjoyment from throwing it into a metal shredder.
you said that this is a known fake, could you show what the original looks like, or tell me its name, thank you
