Hello

I would like to buy for my wife an omega constellation (she likes watches, especially vintage and always wanted a connie ), I found one not that high in price and I would like to know if it’s OK for you (case, dial, crown...):

Thanks a lot

That’s a cute little Connie. It’s not in bad shape but it depends on how much wear and tear your wife finds acceptable. My wife loves the vintage but has little tolerance for dial damage or significant case wear- so I track down as clean as possible.
This one has some dial spotting from moisture and the case has been polished heavily. The dial Isn’t horrible, but it’s there and the brushing on the case can be redone by a watchmaker. It all comes down to price. If it’s running and is under $200, then go for it- it will however need another $200-300 service. If over that- wait for a better one

Thank you very much for all your analysis and answer ! However with all you’ve said, I will wait and look for another one, the price is not under 200$ (it’s more the double).

Personally, I don't like the condition of the case.

I have purchased a few ladies Omegas from this era for my wife- she loves them. I typically pay around $2-300 in excellent condition (a few have been less) and the cost of service drives them over their value - but I am not buying them for me, nor to with intention to sell- they are for her.
The C-cased Connie is on the list, and $400 wouldn’t be a bad price IF the dial were clean, the case retained its brushing, and it came with the factory bracelet. I would even go up to $500 if it had all that- this watch, is not that.

I have a similar watch to this (see my avatar pic) with the coin edge bezel. I agree that the condition of the case and the price are the biggest knocks against the watch. I don't think the dial damage will be particularly noticeable on the wrist (people forget that a picture on the screen is about 10x the size of the dial IRL), but there are better examples out there.
