I purchased this watch off Ebay back in early 2009 for around $400. I sent it to Tim Mackrain (Omega Addict) in 2010 to have the dial restored and a new Crystal installed. I actually haven't worn it in years, and just got it back from Tim for replacement of the Crystal for the second time, as I intended to sell it on Ebay.

The case back reads 14900 SC-61, but the movement is a 561... According to this thread, a 14900 case back should house a 551 movement, not a 561 and that could indicate a fake or franken watch?...

Here are some photos of my watch. I would appreciate your opinions on whether you think my watch is authentic, fake, or a franken watch... Thanks!

The case/case back is fake and the second hand was cut short, probably because it was not meant for this dial.

Is the star on the dial unaligned or is it just the angle of the picture?

Considering how much money I've put into this watch, that's definitely not what I wanted to hear... :-(

Can you elaborate on the case / case back being fake?

There are NOS dog-leg cases on ebay for about $500. (Not sure if it's worth throwing more money in the pit, since the redone dial has taken away most of the value already.)

For more info about the fake cases and Constellations, check out the encyclopedia: http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.ca/2008/05/counterfeit-stainless-steel.html.

Irrelevant, we already know that the dial was refinished through Tim Mackrain's contractor.

Sorry, I see that now when I read the OP again.
