I'm new to this forum and respectfully request your indulgence. I'm in the throes of attempting to determine an approximate valuation of our gold Seamaster watch. The watch was given to me by a very close family friend over 20 years ago. And I was told that the watch was originally given to her deceased husband by a member of the Saudi Royal family. We had an appraisal done in Dubai a few weeks ago. The entire watch is gold (including the band).

The watch has been in my safe for years and continues to keep impeccable time.

I am a little confused, as your post says you just had it appraised yet you want to know the value? are you sure this isn't really intended to be a way around the minimum required posts befoe listing a "For Sale" item?

Do you have better photos of the dial? Of the case? And what about the movement and caseback? And the bracelet, including end links and cleasp? Those would be needed to help determine a realistic value

The gap between bracelet and lugs is interesting...

It's a 400$ Seamaster you got there. Goldcap. Nice condition

It's possible that someone want to pay a premium, because there is an arab in the dial, but I won't

Now, what did they tell you in Dubai?

Except for the stainless steel caseback, and the stainless steel parts on the inside of the band... :whistling:

Not shrunken, just not the right diameter for this watch which should be 18mm. :)

As mentioned, it is a little hard to evaluate these since for some the logo doesn't add any special value and may even decrease desirability. Others who like these will pay a premium. The best way to go about selling would probably be to list up on ebay and let the market decide.

You are too kind on a scammer Kyle. :);)
He claims to have had it verified as all gold. Wrong bunch to pull that one on.
I expect this listing to be deleted and the scammer blocked.

It would be $400 if it didn't have the smiling dude on the dial, somebody's uncle perhaps?

Chucking the bracelet and putting on a nice leather band will likely help the value.

If it came from a member of the Saudi royals It should be buried in a very deep hole.
    They are two-faced barbarians.

Blowing the pics up four hunnert bucks may be high. Crystal is in poor shape and hands don't look to have aged well.

I can't imagine looking at my watch throughout the day to check time and seeing that face staring back up at me each time. Change the bracelet and dial and I'd probably consider paying $350 or so.

Thank you for your response! With all due respect! As I indicated in my post; I'm new to this forum and have no need nor desire to get around anything. I had the watch apprised in Dubai! Not in the USA! I will find a dealer! Thanks again!

If you've had it appraised, then I'd assume they gave you a value?

In that case www.xe.com should help if all you need is a currency conversion.

The fact that it's a) very obviously not all gold as you stated, and b) on a bracelet that is both not all gold (as you stated it was), and not the right size for the watch - suggest that it may have been assessed by someone who isn't familiar with what this watch should look like... Or not assessed at all, and you were hoping we'd give you a value so that you can eBay it.
