Hi there,

I got an omega watch from my father and I cared about it's restoration. Now I'm looking for a specific informations about what could it be. I've read about the WWII history of that line of watches. It suppose to be made about 1938, according to the mechanism serial numbers. Case is also marked as 2292, so it could be the original chrome case. But I do not know why it might have a black dial. I thought that the originals came with white ones. Any help and suggestions would be really welcome. Have a nice day!

This photo is disconcerting from a servicing point of view...

Not fully disassembled...balance not on the main plate...is this a watchmaker you have used before?

Well, it's the first time I gave this watch to anyone. Watchmaker I choose has good opinion. Regarding the location of all of the parts, well, I do not know how should it be done. Any thoughts about overall watch condition or it's genesis?

The dial has been repainted, possibly by the MoD, many have. The case might have been replated, in my opinion.

What about the luminescent dots and hands? Could it be done by MoD as well?
