Help Identifying Vintage Longines Solid Gold Pocket Watch

    In keeping with my recent Longines interest, I was able to take some pictures of my Uncle's Longines Solid Gold Pocket Watch. I was able to trace the serial number on back to 1947 and 1948. The website being:

    The hands have radium I believe for Luminosity and is 43mm in diameter. Longines Dial.jpg

    I have some questions for the Forum. First, is this the serial number on the case (as shown in the picture) or is it on the mechanism inside. The number on the case does seem to fit the year suggested on that website database but I've learned that most of the Longines serial numbers is on the actual mechanism not the case. Second, Is the model name "Tidal" as imprinted on the case? Third, what mechanism would be inside?

    I know this maybe outside the Longines wrist watch knowledge base but any input would be appreciated. This is a beautiful watch which carries quite a bit of history for our family.
