·Hello everyone,
I'm hoping some of the Omega experts here might be able to help me identify an unusual vintage Omega De Ville I recently acquired.
I've spent quite a bit of time searching through auction archives, old listings and online discussions, but so far I haven't been able to find another example with exactly the same dial and bracelet combination.
Here is what I know about the watch:
What I've found so far:
During my research, I came across an Omega De Ville Jeux d'Argent sold by Christie's, reference RS 711.8349. This watch shares the same case number and movement, but features a different dial and bracelet.
I also discovered the article "The Andrew Grima Omega Years" by Bulang & Sons, along with one of their previously sold Omega De Ville models featuring an unusual silver link bracelet.
This made me wonder whether my watch might belong to the Grima-inspired Jeux d'Argent collection or a related Omega design series from the 1970s.
However, I haven't found any documentation confirming my exact version.
I would really appreciate your thoughts on a few questions:
1. Has anyone seen this exact Omega De Ville before, particularly with this bracelet and dial combination?
2. Could the bracelet be an original Omega design, or might it have been added later?
3. Is reference 8349 associated with the Jeux d'Argent collection?
4. Could there be a connection to Andrew Grima or his influence on Omega's designs?
5. Does anyone have old Omega catalog scans, advertisements or reference documents showing similar models?
I've attached several photographs of the watch, including the dial, case, movement and bracelet.
I'm not claiming that the watch is unique or particularly rare. I'm simply curious about its history and would love to find another documented example.
Any information, opinions or references would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help!
