I found this in a small flea market in Venice and got it for next to nothing. Was wondering if anyone knew any details about what kind of time it’s from and model details etc

    Thanks in advance DADAE526-EE02-4301-B0D2-D81E69FF4606.jpeg

Can't tell you much, but am smart enough to know that a Longines for "next to nothing" is a killer buy! Congratulations. Looks like a 40's model to me and has great wrist presence. If you want to double your money I will give you twice next to nothing for it. What can that amount to? A pitance?

P.S. get it serviced.....or better yet I will do it. LOL. And as a negotiating ploy, I will talk you down to a half pitance as it needs a service. It's all about you, Man!

Looks like a caliber 12.68Z (the movement) from the early/mid-1950s. Is it around 37 mm in diameter? Could be a reference 4914. Would need to see inside to confirm.

Thanks guys! I’m not very well versed in the world of old watches but I had a feeling this was worth more than I paid! It seems you have supported my hunch.

I might even go back to the market today as the old guy had a collection of about 30 similar era watches for sale at the same price!

Don’t buy guessing the value...done that many times. Enjoy the hunt!
