Can anybody help me identify the model/name of this Omega? Would I need to open it up? How would I do that? Newbie here…

Thanks!

You will need help from an expert to open that case so you can authenticate the watch.

Thank you for the advice, we know it’s real because it was passed down from the family. However, I know that doesn’t really mean anything in terms of authenticity until we pop it open.

I’ll look into a good jeweler/watchmaker in my area to help with the process of authentication. I know virtually nothing about Omegas.

Looks like an American market watch from the 1960s, IIRC caliber 620.

So I am doing some more digging off the “IIRC Caliber 620” suggestion and I am seeing a “D6650” from the 1960s that looks identical. I guess the “620 cal” is what watch could be under the hood, and the D6650 is the model itself. Thank you to all who replied on this. Much appreciated.
