    Aloha Everyone...

New here and learning a lot from reading through the threads.
I've had this Seamster for a while but I haven't had any luck in getting any specific information about it.
I've done Google searches and have found watches that look very much like it...but there is always something just a little different.

-Off white dial with beveled markers. No "lume" on dial or hands.
-Date window at 3 o'clock position with metal surround.
-Acrylic crystal with an "Ω" centered above the hub and internal magnifying date window.
-Case back has "Seamaster" engraving and "WATERPROOF" etching. No max. depth indicated.
-Smooth crown (just 4 knotches) and Ω embossing.

I've been a Rolex wearer for many years...but I must say that I've come to truly come to appreciate this watch very much.
Any help in giving me a better idea of date or production and maybe why I've not been able to find another one quite like it...will be much
    appreciated.

    Mahalo...

    Hello.

-Off white dial with beveled markers. No "lume" on dial or hands.
    That's ok.

-Date window at 3 o'clock position with metal surround.
It means there is a caliber 503 inside

-Acrylic crystal with an "Ω" centered above the hub and internal magnifying date window.
    Original omega crystal has that

-Case back has "Seamaster" engraving and "WATERPROOF" etching. No max. depth indicated.
Nice caseback there, some don't have that Seamonster

-Smooth crown (just 4 knotches) and Ω embossing.
    Original crown, too.

    I think it's a Seamaster 2849 , caliber 503 serial # in 16 mil range, year 1956

    I can confirm it's a caliber 503 from the mid / late 50's.

    Appreciate the info!
It's a bit older than I thought it was!

    I'm curious...
Do you think the crystal may have been replaced at some point?
I don't see any of these ref.'s with the magnification window.

If the crystal has the Omega symbol, it's probably original.

These watches came with and without the magnifier at the customer's option.

Blow up the first photo and you can clearly see the Omega symbol in the center of the crystal.

If it has been replaced it was done with an Omega crystal.
