I saw this the other day and didn't know if it was a special edition or not. I think it's at least 25 yrs old. Sorry for the blurry pic

Its a day date. Aka the Presidential.

Made from the 70’s to today with that dial on and off.

I’m not going to say it’s real either from that picture.

That’s a bit of an understatement unfortunately - it also appears to have been taken in a mirror upside down. Any chance you could give the Rolex crew a little more help? Assuming it’s your picture?

My .02 is that there are a lot of “special editions” of Rolex and that 99% are made with quartz batteries and sold in dark alleys.

And I am yet again amazed with the ability of some to provide real information when faced with nearly insurmountable odds... well done @Foo2rama

Wow that's amazing Thanks for the info. I had my dad take a picture of it. He was meeting up with his old best friend who was visiting who owns the watch. As a kid I remembered him wearing a gold rolex and so now as an adult I was curios to know what it was. They are half way across the world so no chance for me to actually look at it in person.
Anybody want to guess how much it's worth? I think his wife gave it to him back In the 80s.

A solid gold presidential will go from 8-25k depending on which movement, condition and finishing. Ie dial, bracelet, bezel.

My ex had one passed from her father which a dealer offered 20. Onyx indices, bark finish bezel and bark center links on the presidential bracelet. It had the early non quick set date movement. Stunning piece and valued higher then the diamond indices dial as it stays masculine. Bark bezels are rare and the bracelet is rarer.

This one I’d guess is on the lower side in the West, might do better in Asia. That dial is still an option on the DJ and popular in Asia. Might still be available on the DD.
