First post on the board so take it easy on me! I was looking to identify this movement but I couldn't figure it out. All it says is OMEGA - 15 JEWELS - SWISS - and has the numbers 9428657. Thanks in advance!
Hi SirGabo and welcome! That is the Ladies caliber R 13.5, produced from 1938 for 25 years under various iterations from the 240 yours appears to be up until the 1960's version 245. May we see the dial?
That's what I was looking for! Here's the dial. It needs a new mainspring as it just winds and winds and winds... and I just found one on eBay for $5!
$5 + $2.85 shipping! http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-CAL-R...365534?hash=item2ef3f43d1e:g:FusAAOSwqfNXkSQvPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Sir, you are off to a great start here. Please set an avatar, as that is how we identify contributing members. If you are not returning, good luck to you!
Done! I chose a picture of myself wearing a shirt of myself wearing a shirt of myself.... I'll be back for sure... I have 3 more ladies Omega watches on the workbench. I'm trying to learn watch repair, I bought a watchmakers estate and I'very recently successfully stripped down a movement, cleaned, oiled, and reassembled.... a crappy one not a nice Omega. I'm buying, fixing, and selling ladies watches so that I'm not tempted to keep them for myself. Eventually I'll buy myself a nice broken Omega and fix it for myself with my profits.
Just put a new crystal on the green one, waiting for a band to arrive and it will be ready for a home. The square gold one needs cleaning and oiling as it starts and stops, haven't assessed the one with the minute hand loose in the case yet.
