Hi all -- new to this forum. Hoping someone might help me identify my grandfather's old pocket watch.

I know very little about it. I can say a few things with certainty about my grandfather: He never had much money, not enough to purchase an expensive timepiece. He fought in WWII in the Pacific. He lived in Western PA for all of his life, except for when traveling during the war. That's all I know that might relate to the watch's history.

Etching in the case's interior reads: Central Watch Case C9 3167198 21 S

The number on the movement reads: 1878064

Thank you for any insight you might be able to provide!
