Hi guys - I found an all original, never refinished Seamaster with ref no 166011 on the inside of the caseback. I tried entering this in the Omega data base ("166011", "166.011") and am not gettng a hit. Why? It is a silver dial, dauphine hands, stainless case, date at 3:00. S/N on 562 movement is 21275XX. Would love to post pic's of the watch but get no result when I Upload File and it won't let me paste them in either...
Not everything is in the Omega data base. Seems similar to this, remember , dials may vary in a reference number: Seamaster Gents' leather strap Reference ST 166.0001 International collection 1962 Movement Type: Automatic (mechanical) Caliber number: 562 Created in 1958 24 jewels Central sweep-second hand Some of these calibers were chronometer certified Functions Date Case Stainless steel Case back Screw-in Dial Metal, with faceted relief and metal "stick" hands. Crystal Armoured hesalite Bracelet Leather Water resistance 30 meters
Nope, that's not there either. I did try over at the parts database on the Jules Borel website, it shows the 166.0011 should have the cal. 562, so all looks OK. gatorcpa
Thanks gents. I trust the seller and was able to see the watch in his shop. Nice to have your input. I think I will pull the trigger and bring it home.
