Hello! I'm new here (first post) and I was hoping for a bit of advice!

I have my grandfather's watch, and was hoping someone might be able to help me identify it. The year, anything special about it, etc. I think it was from the 50's.

Sorry if there is another way to post about these things!

    Thanks everyone!

Your grandfather had taste! Looks as though it hasn’t been worn for some time. A sympathetic service is likely due before it is put back into service. Do not take it to the watch repair counter at your local big box store. Careful research will help you locate a vintage watch specialist shop. Do not send it to Omega! Consider giving us an after shot, on the wrist.

Could be a bumper movement model maybe? The RE is indicative of an earlier rather than later 50s model.

    It's a 2852 right?

I have a similar watch. Mine has a bullseye waffle dial (not pie pan), different crown, and was also COSC certified. Same style markers (love them!).

FWIW, mine is a ref 2652 7 SC and contains a cal. 354 bumper automatic movement. It dates to circa 1953, 13 million serial number.

Ooh! A bumper would be cool,

Hey @Paul Vidal , does the watch kind of jump a little when you hold it and turn side to side gently?
