I haven't seen another of these, is it correct for a Marine Chronometer (which is what I received in it) please, and if not any idea which watch(es) came in it?
The MC is ultra rare... we have an expert on those somewhere... It might be a rare original box, the MC was extremely expensive and top of the line back then. There appear to be 50-60's blue boxes with accuracy awards so there might be a link. Pageing @Tom Dick
Thank you all for your replies! The watch is lovely and also came with original Besançon paperwork and wallet and has been serviced by STS. I haven't been wearing it much and was talking to someone about selling it. At least I know the box is part of the set. Any idea on value please? We were discussing around the £2,000 mark. I sold off a bunch of my Omegas (really nice Stardust MQ, Electroquartz, Chrono-Quartz and 176.005) because I wasn't wearing them and I was thinking I'd keep the MC because I like it so much. I used some of the money from the watch sales to buy stuff I've wanted for some time (911 Flightmaster, X33 Skywalker, Speedy 125 and a Hi-Beat Grand Seiko) but by selling the MC I will have some funds to buy a 910 Flightmaster, or it would be half of what it will cost to buy back my old PloProf. Decisions decisions!
