    Hi,

I am trying to identify a watch my dad gave my son. He had it serviced at one point and gave the watch to my oldest son. My son said it did not run, but I recently took another look at it. It runs (but runs a bit fast LOL).

I am trying figure out which movement it has. The warrantee card lists a number 28021407 which is hand written in .

Here is a photo. Thank you very much. I am heading to a store this week to look at a new watch, considering a Moonphase in blue. :)

Trying to figure out how to set day of week? Other that moving ahead 24 hours at a time? I got the date. That was back and forth from midnight to 9 pm.

Looks like a nice Seamaster "sparkle". Should have a cal 750 movement in it. Google it or search the forum, you should find a plethora of information.

I found the same video I found before knowing the movement ?750 but this Watch' manual says to set the date you move back from midnight to 9 and repeat. The 750,751 and 752 video shows changing the date but pulling stem out and pushing it back etc. So I'm going to assume I figured out the day of week (strangly not mentioned in the manual) setting of just moving forward 24 hours at a time then go back and fix the date.

It was serviced a few years ago. Replaced crystal and crown. Taking back in since it runs very fast

Nice to see the family "seamaster gold top" what we call here in Indonesia.
Mine just got it last two weeks ago: 168.023 cal.752
I just need to send to watchmaker for services and learn for proper day and date properly as per reference move with push or pump it?

    I love it...

Very very nice watch. Pulling gout the stem to change the date is a "quick date" feature.

    Great watch.

I dropped it off at an Omega Dealer. They quoted me $500 or so to fix it. I got a call shortly after driving away. The watchmaker opened it to take a look. The thing has rust inside and that is why it's running fast I guess. He is ordering parts and I hope to have it back in a month or so. He asked how long ago it was serviced and thought perhaps it was done very poorly as the rust in his estimate has been there for more than 7 years or so. I hope he can get it running well.

FYI. This movement allows the Pull Push to set the date (as well as the back up to midnight then to nine pm and back and forth as the manual states). The day of week is bruit force advance a day at a time.

Tough to tell from the photos, but is the stem an actual Omega stem?

    Dan,

Good eye! My dad said one of the things they "replaced" on the last "service" was the stem. So I hope that with this new service at an actual Omega dealer they will correct that!

I got this watch serviced and now it's got an authentic Omega stem and is now once again waterproof! It was shipped on Wednesday morning and arrived 30 hours later, so at the shorted interval it was 'set' then and appears to be keeping time nicely. I will keep an eye on it to see how well!

The endlonks are not the right size for that watch, I would try to find the right ones.
