This watch was owned by a relative. Any information on this watch would be greatly appreciated. It is an automatic and keeps time. Thank you,
Nice watch! My guess is that it is an early to mid-60s Seamaster with a cal. 550 or 552 movement, stainless steel back and 14k gold bezel. It is missing the seconds hand.
SWISS only on this would indicate US delivery watch. Early 1960s. Cool dial and appears to be in good original condition. Movement on these comes out from the front so you'd need to have a watchmaker open the watch to confirm the reference marked inside the case and the movement number and caliber number to confirm date. Crown is a replacement.
Thank you for the replies! I couldn’t find a similar dial as a reference. It sat in a box unused for 20+ years but keeps good time and functions properly. I have a modern Seamaster and had never seen a vintage until yesterday.
Very nice one. Should be 14k gold-capped (very thick layer of gold on on lugs + solid gold bezel). Much deserves its second hand back and a COA.
Lovely dial - would clean up nicely with a sympathetic service. @Rochete ehat do you mean by COA - certificate of authenticity? From whom? Why would you bother for this watch?
Can anyone recommend someone for second hand install and COA in the United States. I live in a small town, after research, closest reputable service is out of state. Will have to ship for service anyway. Thank you!
