So in a Christmas bind I bought this watch with doing very little research. I knew enough by just glancing at it that it was worth the money I paid but I also knew I didn't know enough to be sure it was a good example.
So what I know about, or think I know, is that it an original case and dial from the 50s or early 60's. It was sold as a 40's but I'm fairly certain its not as I have the shield and rose emblem and all the older ones that I have seen have just a rose. The hands are clearly replacements and I am yet unsure of the movement. I just got it in today and haven't had a chance to work on the back cover. It is stamped with the serial number you can see in the pics. Truthfully I'm not even sure if its an automatic or manual wind. I have never had one like this before.
The band is really the reason I took the gamble. Serial says its off a 73 Daytona. It a spring rivit band in really nice shape. It's very loose on this watch but it does fit. I believe the end pins are way to small for the bore so it has a lot of wiggle. The band itself is nice and tight with no play in the springs. I am have a slightly hard time adjusting the clasp as it feels to loose but I think the small pins are playing a part in that.
I was told its a 17j movement and while I have no reason to doubt the seller I need to see it with my own eyes.

How much did u pay for it? Also the bracelet looks like a riveted bracelet which in it self is very valuable

It was only several hundred bucks. I had to move quick on it. It was the only that I could take a chance on for how low it was selling for. I knew someone else was looking at it too, several actually, and if I missed it I would be out the gift. As it turns out my wife also got a watch gift so this one isn't really needed. It's a cool but I'm not sure I'm going to keep it. The band isn't really my anyway.

looks like a 16mm bracelet, if your watch is like the one I bought last week, it fits a 17mm band....
This is my 1947 caliber 59, sorry I forgot to get the ref number while the case was open for service, but I think it may be a 4453

Bracelet is C & I, Not a swiss bracelet with marked end pieces for Daytona. 19mm will fit the case but don't expect any premium for these. Most are knackered and bring $100-150. Nice patina on the Tudor, enjoy it.
