Help identify omega de ville

Hi,

I inherited this watch that my uncle received on his birthday 35 years ago. Does anyone know what it is? Google suggested it is a de ville symbol maybe? My uncles wife says it is gold.

It is from the De Ville Symbol line, but without the symbols on the dial. The "symbol" dialed variants maybe didn't sell as well as Omega had hoped, so the design reverted to more traditional dial styles.

The watch is reference 196.0316 from about 1989/1990.

The case is solid gold, most likely 18 carat.
