Can anyone help ID my Omega watch that was passed down to me from my grandfather? I have looked everywhere and have never seen another like it. It has a textured linen type dial and says “Swiss” and not “Swiss Made” and the numerals appear to have a different font than most I’ve seen. It is also having some running issues and appears to stop then start again. I’d like to get it serviced. John

Looks like a 2848 from the late 1950s. The font is fine. Prob a US market watch hence the missing Made text. There are many dial variations.

Nice watch! Very cool dial with waffle and these numerals.

I think if you tell where you are, some people here might be able to recommend some watchmakers.

I think the 3, 9 and 12 numerals are written in what is called Breguet type font

Beautiful town. We have a few other Michiganders here ... I'm in metro Detroit, as are a few other members. Welcome!

Yes correct, couldn’t remember the name yesterday!
