Hello I'm trying this project. I can get the case , hands, movement, no dial. I've searched everywhere no luck on the dial. Can you help me?
Looks like it would be easier to start with a cal 565 movement as the dials are obtainable. I just love the no date watch and the cal 552 is on par with the Rolex 1570. 552 is a great movement. I have one I'm restoring.
Can you help me with part numbers? I'm going to order a 565 movement. I need help with the part numbers for the hands and dial. The case will be 166.0234. Also can you tell me if I need anything else?
I had some no date dials on order for close to 1.5 years and eventually just canceled the order with my supplier Show up on Ebay every so often DON
They are no more difficult to obtain (from Omega) than the date dials are. So the scarcity that everyone talks about has nothing to do with their production and availability from Omega. I suspect part of it is manufactured scarcity on the part of a reseller...
Two options: 1) As suggested, switch to a dial and movement that have a date. 2) Black electrical tape. Its not as universal as duct tape, but does have the color needed in this instance.
I'm starting the process. I have a 565 movement on the way. My question is what are the prospect that the supply for the case 166.0324 will still be available from Otto fries or cousins within the next year.?It's going to take me a bit to bring the funds for this $1450-1789.
I would recommend you move a bit quicker than that. As of the end of 2015 they can't buy them anymore, so even before that date people were stocking up on parts, so there's already been a bit of a run.
