I have this uniquely cased reference 166.0245 with a calibre 1012 movement that isn’t well secured in its case. I believe it doesn’t have the correct movement spacer ring that would secure it to this particular case. The movement slightly rattles back and forth (ie in the plane of the crystal and caseback). I know the internal diameter to fit the movement is 28.5mm. Does anyone know what the proper part number is and where best to find it? Thanks OF.

Strange one, would expect a Constellation to be Chronometer watch. The movement is a standard cal. 1012 never heard of them being used in Constellation.
Cant find any info on the 166.0245.

Desmond's blog covers this, the 1012's were non COSC.

I’m curious if the movement spacer ring is the same for all Connies that use the 1012 movements. My watchmaker recommended I use a dust cover to press down on the spacer ring upon closure of the caseback and thus better securing the movement. However I doubt this reference used a dust cover. Rather it most likely has the wrong spacer ring. I just can’t find much info on this Omega reference.

Can’t help with a part number. But I have a caliber 1012 on my bench right now. The adapter ring is plastic. I have shown 3 pictures which may help. This retainer has a groove cut into the inner circumference of the adapter ring, close to the edge that abuts the back side of the dial. Likewise, the pillar plate has a land (a shoulder) machined onto it. The groove on the inner circumference of the adapter ring fits over that land. Pictures aren’t great, but hopefully, they’ll give you the idea. The case on this 1012 is not like yours, but I suspect the adapter I’ve shown would be the same as the one you need.

Thanks Canuck. This again supports my belief that my watch doesn’t have the proper ring. Now to correlate it with the proper part number...

After further review, I believe what's missing are movement clamps.

IMG_2780.jpg IMG_2781.jpg IMG_2785.jpg sparkle.jpg Are these clamps like miniature rugby ball shaped rubber grommets by any chance? I rescued a messed up sparkle dial from the early 70's. Both the seal and the plate clamps had perished and melted all over the place. You can still get replacement ones but they're really expensive for what they are. Personally I wouldn't put such a stupid system back in anyway..15 years down the line you'll have melty goo all over again. I don't know what my watch guy did but dial and movement are firmly seated up again the internal chapter ring and I'm happy!

No I think they’re similar to the clamps I have circled in the following photos (from eBay). I noticed there’s a groove cut along the perimeter within the case of my watch that I’m assuming is an attachment point for the clamps.

There you go. You'll need the screws as well.

Apparently I’m missing this part. What is the proper name for it and any suggestions on how to locate it?
