Hello, a couple of times ive ordered a watch stem for my 66 seamaster calibre 552. and ive been sent what the internet tells me is the correct fitting stem.. but no matter what length i trim it it falls out when time is set.. so upon much closer inspection of the old stem.. and the new 1106. the old stem is a different shape.. how can i work out what part number it is? because it seems my cal 552 does not fit the 1106. any advice would be gratefully received thank you.

in the picture attached the stem on the right is a failed 1106. and the stem on the left is the old stem that works fine atm. 2 big differences are on 1106 ....tip is longer and the first cylinder after the screw is shorter.

The stem you need for a 552 is part number 550 1106.

You must make sure that it is not a 563 1106, because that is only for calibers 563, 564, and 565 that have quick set date mechanisms.

The numbers in bold correspond to the caliber that the part is used for, so that has to be correct for you to get the correct part.
