Dear Respectable Members

I'm looking for a 13mm (measured from the centre) sweep seconds hand (i.e. one with a 'bobble' weight on the end) for the following 35mm Medicus, Cal. 23.4SC (please see image below). The only viable option would be to find a donor watch but that is proving to be extremely difficult. Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Nice looking watch. You may want to show a photo of another watch with the correct sweep hand so people can visualize what you are looking for.

Sure, please find an image below showing the correct sweep seconds hand.

Ref CK 2015, a nice and unusual one.
Here in a 1940 French catalog :

Existed with luminous hands and dial, mine says hello :

Cal. 23.4 SC had second hands with either round or oval shaped counterpoise. We tried, with a friend collector, to understand if they corresponded to some specific models or periods (especially for the St Christophe), but there was no logics in what we found so I suppose both were used on same models and years.

Many thanks for all the informative and useful information. Lovely pic of your 23.4 with oval shaped counterpoise. My first choice would be a sweep seconds hand with the round counterpoise (i.e.., bobble weight) at the end, followed by an oval shaped counterpoise like yours. I'm guessing it may take a while to source one. Thanks again for sharing!

Dear Respectable Members

I came across this sweep seconds hand with round counterpoise, specifically for a "Weems" RAF Pilot's Watch, Ref. CK2129 on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1949527285...rentrq:b94d4e951850a744505edcc9fffef048|iid:1https://www.ebay.com/itm/1949527285...rentrq:b94d4e951850a744505edcc9fffef048|iid:1

I believe Ref. CK2129 was powered by a calibre 23.4SC movement. Any advice and/or guidance would be most appreciative.

It’s for a NON weems RAF watch. The model shown by the seller is a CK 2292, with a 30T2 inside, not a 22.4SC.
Probably non fitting.
Anyway, a weems with 23.4 SC is much smaller than a 2015, its hand would be too small. I will post pictures this evening.

Ronnie, the hand you show in this link does not have a round counterpoise - it has an oval (drop) counterpoise, so it would be only the second best choice.
And as Yann has stated its for a 30 SC T2 movement

As announced for comparison of dial sizes:
CK 2129 (Weems) and CK 2015, both same 23.4 SC caliber but different diameter :

CK 2292 and CK 2015, different calibers :

CK 2129 and CK 2292, both WWII RAF watches but different calibers :

With a lot of patience and a bit of luck, you will find a proper seconds hand.

Checked all Hands here. Nothing fits. Good luck ! .... Who knows the center second pivot diameter for 30t2/ 23.4 exactly? A good watchmaker will be able to adapt the tube ....

I took a look in my hand systems and found a random hand. Not Omega, but 13.10 mm with an oval end

Only problem. It's red and I don't know the pinion size (never bought a hand gauge)

Could fit or might need a reaming

Can hold it down and using steel wool. Remove the red paint by going over it lightly

It's brass base. Matching to hands. Toolmakers blue dye or find a blue permanent Sharpie and go over it

Can have it if you want it. Pay the postage with FF of $1.25

Let me know

Thank you so much for your kind offer and assistance. I am most grateful and appreciative of your help. Although it's not the exact match (Omega), the dimensions of 13.10 mm with an oval end seem promising. I shall PM you. Once again, thank you so much for your generosity and willingness to help. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Ronnie
