Hi everyone,
I am considering this timepiece from a dealer that advertised it for $1100 and wanted to get some experts opinions on the forum on whether I should proceed, one comment I have is his ad states that movement is 552, any advises are greatly appreciated.

Its cal 560 not 552, dial looks refinished, way overpriced in general, 165.002 is a non-date reference yet it has a date which means the movement, dial and case don't match at all and the watch is just an assembled pile of bits.

I did noticed the movement discrepancy between what seller stated in the ad and actual movement but thought it was just a typo 😀 😀
Hard pass, thanks very much

Plenty of nicer original Seamasters at half the price so, you’re quids in and not a hard pass - more a lifeline

Admittedly my experience of vintage Omegas with black dials is limited but I’ve noticed that the majority on offer have faded dials if genuine and pristine-appearance dials (like the one you posted) if they are; refinished, restored, repainted or any other euphemism you might like.

My personal view is that Longines black dials seem to last better than Omega dials if you’re looking for a black dial.

In fact, you can buy a new black dial Longines Conquest Heritage watch for less than the price you mentioned at the outset of this thread.

I also don’t think the dials original.

And @Yayatar16, to save you looking it up, here’s one of mine (admittedly with an aftermarket bracelet) 35mm and lots of them available for around £500/600 on eBay and Chrono24.
