    Hi

I know a lot of you noticed the Omega CK 14755 that sold on eBay last week for 7.1k Euro - it was discussed in a thread titled SM300's going crazy https://omegaforums.net/threads/sm300s-going-crazy.35266/#post-398498. I was one of those hoping to be able to pick this up but the price went beyond what I was willing to pay at this point.

I have an hour and minute hand for a CK 14755 that I've owned for some time. I was really hoping to put it to use on the aforementioned watch. However at the $7k + price point there are other watches that rank higher on my wish list. So I'm contemplating selling these hands, but I'm not even sure what a fair asking price would be all things considered. I have to imagine that they are quite rare, I've not seen another pair for sale anywhere.

Thoughts from other members regarding price would be greatly appreciated.

    Here is a quick pic

I've got a funny feeling that's not what you were hoping for ;)

I think they are worth a lot more than the $180 to the person who has a 14755 with a wrong hand set. If that was me I'd probably be prepared to pay around $400/$500 for them, seeing as the price ceiling for the ref 14755 has just recently been smashed I don't feel it would be money wasted.

The lume on Zuke's looks very nice and original radium and that will make the difference. I have some spare handsets myselves, otherwise I would be all over these.
Regarding rarity: the market was/is floated with tritium replacement (correct) ones from different sources over the last 1-2 years. And these will be quite easy to "age". See the difference between original and replacements in my lousy picture below. So that will affect pricing in some degree.
Anyway, agree with cristos71 on the price level...perhaps more $500+ if you can wait for that right buyer :coffee:

I think this is a very accurate assessment. I recently paid $650 for a pair of hands for a Heuer 2447, and these are far less common. But its all about supply and demand + condition and if you need these hands they are easily worth $500 to the right buyer. (me)

Yes I would have to agree, adding correct hands to any vintage watch can only help but increase it's overall value. In most cases the watch will become a more complete vintage piece. This of course will then increase the value of the watch by an amount which far exceeds the cost of the hands.

Looks like the floor is $500, and since you have such a rarity in the current condition, why not ask 1.5-2x that number and let people make offers, and let the market decide the value ::popcorn::

Well a minute ago they were $180, then we thought somewhere between $400 and $500, now you're suggesting $1000 asking......you're not by any chance a Speedmaster collector are you? :D

Speedmaster owner, nowhere near a collector. Seeing the niche market for these hands, the obvious demand at $500, and the fact that the seller has not put them on the open market yet, makes sense to ask a rather high sum to test the appetite for those interested parties, and then let them make offers--you have to start with a number, albeit it may be rather absurd, but it is a starting point nonetheless.

Of course I hear what you are saying, but it just seems to me that there is sometimes too much talk here recently about the worth/value/investment potential of things and how to squeeze the last $ out of a watch/bezel/crown/pair of hands or whatever. It takes away somewhat from the feeling of community spirit within a bunch of Omega collectors which is what I liked when I first landed here.

I agree with you to a degree, but no one on here wants to sell something for far less than current market value. We are all on here trying to work angles on our next acquisition, and more often than not, that requires selling something of substantial value. All I am saying is set a price, and if someone is willing to pay it, great, and if not, let fellow collectors make offers. All that matters is that each member is happy with the agreed upon price.

I certainly didn't want to have a negative impact on the community spirit. I simply want to get an idea of value on something which you don't see for sale very often. In fact one of the main reasons for this post was to find someone in this OF community that might be in need of these hands. I could have easily posted a "accepting offers" thread on Chronotrader and then sold them to the highest offer.

Don't worry I wasn't directing my comment at you or anybody in particular. It was more an observation about the general state of many "collectors" mindsets these days.

So anything you sell on here I am interested in I will offer you half of what you are asking. Thanks for the tip on your selling philosophy.........
