Guys I need your expert opinions regarding this particular watch that I'm eyeing to buy. This is my first vintage piece that's why I don't want to traumatize myself by buying fake ones.

This watch has a solid reputation (based on his ratings/feedback as a seller). But my concern is, is this watch to good or perfect to be authentic? Especially the dial.

    Thanks OF!

Do you have photos of the movement or inside the case back? Asking price? Where are you buying it? eBay? Could we see the listing? Take a look at this one. The seller is a forum member. http://www.ebay.com/itm/162515987840?rmvSB=truePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

    Hi RenGon

It's an Omega Constellation with a "C-case" it was introduced in 1964 and produced until around 1969. Your watch might be a reference number 168.017. The movement is probably a 561 or 564 caliber (which I like a lot)

But thats just a best guess, to tell you more about the watch we need to see pictures of the movement and caseback. Dial seems good to me, but already curious about the experts' opinions here.

    Yes sorry about that.

Asking price is about around low $1000s. The price includes full oiling and cleaning of the movement. Cal. 564.

That's pretty high for that watch. You can find them all day long under $1000.00. This looks like an Omegaddict watch. They tend to be "tarted up" for sale at a higher cost.

Oh, my writing took to long for @efauser response.

The eBay link is for sure the better option, however watch looks good price seems a bit high, but is a serviced Dealer price (as I assume).

Some pretty heavy, and incorrect refinishing.

What I mean is that the case was serviced to look like new. Though I avoid heavy polished ones.

Can you elaborate on that? Because as far as I can tell the dial has the correct details.

This case isnt refinished to look like new @RenGon, it's been polished, and that's not the finish they have... it should have a circular lap.

Sorry if I didn't communicate it properly. What I mean is the watch has minimum to no scratch and no dings/dents. I don't mind the polishing of the case. I compared the dial of the listing to that of the article several times already. Thanks for the heads up anyways. :)

As long as you understand that the reason it has no scratches or dents, is because it's been polished badly... there are better watches than this for less money, it's just going to take time an patience.

The watch you have listed is not desirable to most collectors... but your money, your choice.

So that means it's a no-go. The search continues then. Thanks for the tip.
