Hi guys, so currently i'm scrabbling through the minefield that is trying to buy a good condition, original Connie. This one ticks a lot of the boxes for me but i don't trust myself to buy without someone holding my hand. So this is what i have found. What i want to know is, is this a good example? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-1...784023?hash=item3f5c23b697:g:L6cAAOSwHmhV8WazPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network There is another one on there but the pictures are terrible so i have emailed him asking for some better ones http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Omega-Con...625761?hash=item4af907eba1:g:YacAAOSwGotWlSYVPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network I would greatly appreciate a little help here please, and look....... i even have an avatar.
Have you spent a bit of time here yet http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com.au/ Wait a bit and keep a eye on the for sale thread. ( even look at sold on the for sale thread over the last year to get a idea.) 2nd one you linked is worn
That's brilliant, cheers for the help guys. I'm more pleased that I feel I have learned something. @hoipolloi , other than the MOY test, where else does this dial fail?
All of it. The thick crosshair and where it cuts Constellation, the Constellation itself, dull edges of the piepan, the chronometER, the M in Chronometre etc.....
Edit cross over with Hoi's post Hi Terry +1 for spending quality time digesting the different dials and scripts on Desmond's site as for this one: it's not a bad redial but.... as you've seen -it fails the MOY test quite badly the cross hairs are drawn too thickly the vertical line shouldn't go through the L of Constellation the script of Constellation isn't quite correct -note the two Ts aren't quite right and no dot over the i hope that helps -also check out the 'show your constellation' thread on OF for great examples of good watches Philip
Thanks guys this really has been very enlightening. My wife will be pleased that i wont be spending any more money just yet You guys know your stuff and i appreciate you all taking your time to help me out
Nice one, even more differences when compared that close. Cross hairs don't reach the arrowheads but terminate at the heavier minute mark that they left out at the 3,6,9,12 position.
Nice one Bart, with those pics and peemacgee's description I can now see the difference. Great reference. By the way @BartH is that yours?
tricky things to write on those textured dials.... that is truly shocking -I think you are being unkind to 3 years olds - definitely one for the worst redial thread
Guys i am trying to find out about cases, in particular a 2782-3 sc. Have been looking on the collectors blog for so long that my head hurts. Am i missing it on there?
Is this offering any better? To me it looks like a good one but i'm still not confident enough to decide.
