I am looking to get my first omega and after a lot of looking I have decided to get a bumper I have £500 to spend and I want something original. Any advice would be great
You'll be able to get a Seamaster bumper at that price, I'd look closely at a stainless steel Seamaster CK2627 with date at six, great case, interesting dial, and good movement.
If Pireight is from the UK (which I assume from the currency quoted) then the chance of finding a 2627 in nice condition for just £500 is pretty slim. In the EU they seem to go for more than that - I spent several months looking and just drew a blank, and I was prepared to go to a lot more than £500 for a decent example. Most of the 2627 dials are in poor shape or have been refinished. You would have better luck searching for a non-date Seamaster in steel with the calibre 351 or 354 movement in the common 2577 case reference.
I'm not really keen on date ones. But yes definitely a stainless one interests me. I have seen a few but I'm not sure what to look out for, as I want a completely original one with original dial. Are there any places you'd recommend?

Hi there, I asked members to show me bumper watches around a month ago and was treated to a fine display of watches. Not sure how to link, but it was titled 'show me your bumpers'. Won't help on pricing, but shows how many different designs there are. I am still looking to buy one also and like the seamaster with date at 6 as mentioned above. Good luck, half the thrill is in the research and the chase!
Thank you, that's very kind. I have already purchased one now! But I'm sure it's not going to be the last! How's your search going?
I'm still learning a lot about these 50's Seamasters. Is that crown correct or should this have a clover on it?
