Good evening everybody, I'm bidding on a watch and I need the forums advice before I seal the deal… What do you think of this watch?

Thanks for your help, and I apologize for the last minute message.

It looks nice, are you certain you want the speedy reduced instead of the professional?

I am sure, I like the price savings especially. What model would you say this is? Movement? The seller knows jack about it, said it was gifted to them. Ugh ..... LOL

I'm sorry, I don't know the reduced models very well. It's an automatic movement and with that 8 digit serial he listed you will be able to find some info by sending an email to Omega. They won't send you an Extract since its newer than 2000.

Should I just not pay, I've never ever even considered doing that. It looks like it's a good one. Price seems fair

I'm not saying that, if you like it then by all means buy it. For under $900 I think you're getting a good deal. You know it's only 39 mm right?

If I didn't own my Breitling Chrono Cockpit, I'd have a variant of that watch. It has a Valjoux 7750 inside. The auction isn't over yet, so let's hope it stays under $1000.

Yes I had one very similar that I sold and I wished I hadn't. I'm not bidding anymore on it.

I wanted one with a date, I've got a max bid placed, I'm cool with anything under a $1000

Did you mean that in an ugly way? [emoji848] or am I just missing something in the typing. Nuance can be hard to get through to someone via text sometimes.

Well I missed it, but I'm glad that I did, I needed more information to feel really good about the purchase

I'll be honest and say that i was never a fan of the reduced.... It seemed like a homage of the the speedmaster pro rather than just an automatic version of it. The size also is really off putting. I know the price is right but that won't mean much if you end up selling it down the road to buy a real speedy pro, which is what most people end up doing. Trust me friend this was a blessing in diguise.

This isn't a "reduced". The reduced is the name nominally reserved for the smaller automatic speedmaster that takes design cues from the professional (eg, the 3539.50). It does not have a date.

The auction above is a speedmaster DATE. A 3513.50 if I'm not mistaken.

Well I decided to step up and buy a Rolex Datejust, so I spent more than I would have even for a Speedmaster Professional ...... And I'm glad I did. I already own a vintage Seamaster 2577-6 with a 354 bumper movement so it was time for another Rolex.

Right my mistake. I took a rather quick glance at the auction and also the replies from other members. My bad...

Nice! As much of an omega fan I am its really hard to beat the brand recognition and reliability of a Rolex. Not to mention the inherent value it retains thought the year. The datejust is a classy option.... Especially the newer larger 40mm sizes
