I won an auction on a plain Jane 14k / 27m winder @ $500.

I just received the watch and I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to hunt down an original, non-refinished dial because this watch is in otherwise minty sweet condition. The case appears to have only been lightly polished once, maybe twice.

I wouldn't worry about it. You could keep an eye out for a replacement dial, but the refinished one on the watch now is decent.

Nice looking watch, and a caliber that isn't talked about too much despite having a chronometer version that was impressive.
