    Hi,
I found it by accident and wanted to buy this on ebay. It looks very appealing to me but as far as I find out, its case looks very strange to me. Can you tell me the ref?. Sorry English is not my native language.
    Thanks

The JLC case with a locking ring is correct. Not sure of the exact reference, but looks to be from around 1950. Could be a very early E856.

I always have concerns regarding dials on early Memovox watches. They are interchangeable and very easy to swap out.

It will be difficult to find the matching crown for that watch.

At this point, it all comes down to price to purchase vs. price to restore.

Did you buy it? I thought it sold pretty cheaply.

Yes, I won the auction. Restoring it does not matter for me. I just want to know its ref?

I agree, get an expert to improve the lume and I would enjoy wearing that too, and when a crown comes along it comes along.

I just googled. Thank @gatorcpa. He was the one who posted that old catalog photo in the prior thread.

Very well could be an E851. The cal. 489 and 814 movements were used in both the E851 and E856.

    Thanks,

Man, that thing was smoked – the service really brought it back to life. Well done.

Yes, The seller provided the picture very badly. It looks like a seriously degraded white dial. But when I received it, it was very surprising. It is a tropical champange dial
