I really like these. Don’t need a gmt now just like the look. I’m a noob, what you think of this something. I demand accurate immediate in-depth evaluations and I’m sensitive so be nice.

Something looks off. I say fake.
Dude that’s brutal not only am I crying but my wife and ancestors are hysterical.

Like I said I just find the seiko world timers cool looking watches. That’s about as far as my knowledge goes. I’ve been working all day so I haven’t had a chance to put this up against known ones and it’s easier to have others do your homework for u anyway. But it’s looking ok compared to others I’ve seen but tbh I don’t see the bracelets that often and they are getting so good at seiko feikos I literally walk around paranoid 24-7 thinking I’m being chased by one.

Well gee thanks for all your help. Remind me why I blew 50 or a 100 the past couple years when I don’t get the immediate response I demand. Anyway I think it’s fine for the fourth generation of the world timers. I found a pretty good sight that actually breaks these down similar to the pouges. I’ll post a link to it although I don’t think many here are into these. I like the dial lay out, the 41mm round and 44lug to lug gives it kind of a chunky look. It’s also a JDM I think it should be hacking I need to ask the seller.

Hit some stuff that took my interest of watches away for a bit really haven’t picked anything up in a while. I guess if I can work it out with the seller this is a good way to put my toes back in the pool.

I did a group on hobbies and collecting today and there was not one damn person in that room who said they don’t or haven’t had a hobby or collection that helps them chill out a bit. From crotchet to car collecting. It is a healthy pursuit as long as we keep it in our means. I can’t collect muscle cars like my neighbor but I know he loves them and I like walking over to see his latest acquisition. Well anyway I’ll see how this goes or how long I can keep this going talking to myself.

Not seeing any problems. December 1976 if I'm reading it right. The bracelet is a great find.

Did you get that from the serial # on back? I was going to try to run it but I didn’t think I was getting it right. You very well could be correct I was thinking 71 for a minute but that was after a quick look and I may not have got them right.

Aren't the first two characters 6D? If so, it's December 1976. I don't think these were made in 1966.

Ya I’m getting December 76 now. I had to use one that uses movement and case type plus serial. That’s probably correct I’ll verify tomorrow thanks

The first digit is the last digit of the year. The second digit is the month. So it would be December 1966, 1976, or 1986. In this case, it's obviously 1976 since the watch was not produced in either 1966 or 1986. No fancy website required.

I’m not smart like you I always run it through those seiko calculators. Actually I think it was the seller who said 71 and I was too focused on authenticity of the hands and dial etc. (although accurate date would have helped with that of course) this is not a case of the seller being misleading I’m realizing now he just doesn’t really know what he has, which is fine, just has a few watches he’s worn and likes but is getting tired of them I guess.

To add a little more detail, the second digit for the month of production is the numbers 1 through 9 for January through September, but October is O for October, November is N for November, and December is D for Dissenber.

Ha ha, I’m reading this and realizing how wiped out I was last night cause it seems like it was written by a drunk dude but I don’t drink. I guess I was more tired than I thought. At least I entertained myself.

talked to the seller asked him why he had it listed as a 71. He started to talk about the jdm vs international market I explained to him the serial numbers on the back date it to 76. Told him how to check on the internet which he did and said “yup it’s says 71.” He bought it from a Japanese seller a few years ago who had it listed as a 1971 and he just always thought it was. Plausible to me as there was I time I would have done the same thing.

So I’m picking it up Monday. I kinda like the earlier year dials a bit more as they have more color but I’m tired of missing these world timers and he was only asking a few hundred. This is the first watch I’ve bought since I put Hairy the cat to sleep which was August of last year.

Strange only five months but it seems a whole lot longer. A lot of stuff happened in that five months. So I’m pleased to be back in the game. I don’t think this watch will make me rich but I just like it and that is why I buy watches. My buddy said it’s ugly but I’m not wearing it for him. I’m glad the desire to pick up a watch is back. I hope everyone finds something that puts a smile on their face this year. Let’s see what opportunities present themselves next.

You entertained me as well! I thought it was just a joke thread then it got serious and I was a wee bit confused. I meant no disrespect to your ancestors or your cats. Please apologize to them for me. I hope you enjoy the new watch!
