Hey guys! I would like some help identifying a watch my grandfather had left for me before he passed away.
I had it in for a service at a local watchmaker who cleaned it and changed out some broken parts since it was not running. I got the ref number and serial number but have not been able to find what kind of watch it is , and would love to get some help.

Would like to know when it was made and what model it is paper i got from watchmaker says cal.285.

Eric, @efauser already gave you a bunch of good info . It is a CK639. They did not have model names like the Seamaster or Speedmaster, they were just branded as manual wind watches.

Either your watchmaker made a mistake or the movement has been swapped out which would be a bigger problem. Take a picture of the inside of the watch if you'd like to confirm this.

The watch has a similar dial to my Seamaster. Yours is a little bit older than mine and was produced in the early 1950s.

 

Cal. 285 is a center second movement so cant be a 285

 

I don't think the movement can be a 285 as that has centre seconds and your watch clearly has a seconds sub dial

 

you have the most important info with the reference number in the caseback.

you can find the estimated production date according to the serial no. on a lot of websites, e.g. http://chronomaddox.com/omega_serial_numbers.html
