Hi. This is my first post. I've been reading this forum so I can at least look at Omega watches and not feel lost. I'm amazed at how some of you quote the numbers for the various movements etc. I have a lot to learn. I apologize if ask questions that are silly in advance. Thanks
Welcome! You won't find anywhere else on the web with more combined Omega knowledge. You've come to the right place to learn! Very few questions are silly, and no one here bites (too hard ), so ask away.
Hello first up, with a avatar and a compliment. You will fit in No silly questions here if it stops a silly purchase
Welcome to the forum! Please ask all your silly or not so silly questions before you hit the "buy it now" button...this will save you a lot of money and frustration. Always happy to help out here.
Thanks to all of you. I've mostly done a lot of reading on here so far. I'm seriously considering this watch: A local AD has it a competitive price....
ok... that's a silly question That's not a Rolex... In fact, Stephen Urquhart may have just had a stroke by seeing that image.... Seriously... What is your question.. Should you Buy it? of course...YES. But what is holding you back? What Questions would you like answered, or doubts would you like addressed before proceeding?
After reading here I don't really have a question other than if I buy this will I then be afflicted with Omega disease and spend all my time an money on this site?
well....you will purge the demon for period of time.... then each next one will become your "last" one, until you stop feeling guilty about your passion and start to take pride in it... and then a comment like 'Being afflicted' will be viewed with hopeful optimism, rather than trepidation...
5 years from now you will be answering people like yourself ( they will have to be OmegaRookie176) as you are the original
When you can snatch the Planet Ocean from my wrist, it is time for you to leave... or in this case, enable the next rookie.
Nope, absolutely not. No need to worry. This watch will do you fine for years. You won't want any thing else. You'd only be back looking here to confirm what a good decision you made and to see if your watch is appreciating in value. . . . . . OK, now that we've got the answers to wife out of the way, let the good times role.
As an aside, Elliot Easton of The Cars is a watch collector. I had corresponded with him on TZ several years ago - he simply went with his real name as his screen name. Far from my favourite band though...
