Hello, new member seeking advise on this vintage Omega 265 in 2505 case. Wondering if this a redial or original, appreciate your input.

I'd say original and has been cleaned at some stage. A reasonable job was done, just a bit of shadow aound the Omega letters.

We need @hoipolloi to ejudicate on the hands though :D

I've been quietly playing "is it a redial" and seeing if I agree with the experts. I haven't been scoring very high, I'm afraid. I thought redial on this one so I thought I'd ask.

My assessment was mainly from the OMEGA. The M just didn't look symmetrical and the spacing not quite right. The second photo is from jackmond.com. Just the closest example I could find, a 1952. Hands are the same too. He calls the dial original, but correct that if wrong. Font is different but I'm looking at the spacing and the M. Of course I may be comparing apples and oranges. Natural variation of the day? Is the font itself a key? I'm seeing more sans serif on examples.

Anyway. Trying to learn. This dial does look very nice, but please help me with the evaluation.

    The Jackmond is a redial.

Ha. He disclosed redial on other examples so I thought he would do so with all.

Thanks for your responses, very helpful and educational, @Darlinboy: I don't own this but considering. I will have to sell my vintage connie to finance if I fell in love with this one.

2505 is a big size case but not a comfortable watch to wear. The case design looks odd on the wrist.

Think this one original. I disagree, I love those 2505 cases, beautiful curves and perfect size. I'm watching the one presented here on the bay, it is IMO very attractive but too expensive.

Here is one in my collection - same dial style (rose gold markers) but different case reference (but also a jumbo 37.5mm manual wind watch):

I'm watching the same watch I agree way to expensive he's looking for £1200 I feel it worth around £600 I may be wrong I'm sure some one will tell me if I'm way of the mark .
