    Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and the world of quality watches.

My first entry Swiss watch was a Tissot that I recieved at the age of 18. It's been a respectable starter, but now at the age of 30 it's time to get a little more serious.

Over the past few months I've looked at a lot of new high-end models, but to be fair I've actually acquired an eye for the older vintage Omega Seamasters from the 50's and 60s. I just love the look of them and their sizes should suit my smaller wrists. I also like their price tags and find it a fun way to start my collection.

My only problem, however, is that I know very little about them. I find it hard to determine if they are fake or reassembled from non-standard parts. I'd hate to start in this field with a bust.

So if it is OK with the moderators and you all, may I please upload some photos to get your opinions?

    Kind regards,

    Troy

    Thank you!

I can get it for $300 AUD (~ $215 USD) and it appears it needs a service.
My main concern is that it's fake or something I am unable to see, due to a lack of experice, is amiss in photos.

Looks OK to me, linen dials aren’t easy to redial. $300 Aus is a good price.

Loose that bracelet as soon as you get it as they wear out the lugs.

Gday from Darwin :D What state are you in ?

Did you check the serial number against the year? Check that movement came in that case?

It all goes together, I did a bit of research ;).

I saw it a couple of days ago. While the dial is attractive and it has a nice crisp movement the case is toast. Have a look at the lugs where the flexi bracelet has chewed huge holes in the lugs.

For me it would only be a donor watch if I needed a dial/movement.
