    Hi everyone,

Joined this forum a few weeks ago and learning from everyone. It definitely looks like a great community here and looking forward in connecting with some of you on the forum. I just purchased my first moon watch ref 105.012-66. I made a few attempts earlier at other auctions but came second twice. Today, I finally won one. I'm over the moon right now and can't wait to put it on my wrist.

Is this 105.012 or 145.012? I seems to be in 145 range.

Sorry, I'm not stalking you and I'm also sorry to be a killjoy. I was also watching this sale and immediately recognized it because of the discolored sweep hand. I made a note to myself about the serial, and the hand-drag in the hour register. The watch still has a lot going for it.

It has an appealing look overall and there is a lot to like. Sharp case, decent bezel and bracelet. I'm not good at recognizing long vs. short pushers by eye, but could possibly be a legit 145.012 with the wrong case-back.

Thanks for all the replies. How reliable are the online resources regarding serial number? Is there any chance the serial number would be 105.012? It's so disappointing as all I wanted was the 105.012. :(

I have heard that those tables are pretty accurate, but an Extract of the Archives from Omega is the gold standard.

Thanks for trying but I would forgo 105.003 for a 105.012. It will seem like something is missing and I would still be searching and chasing.

Hmm that serial is a concern. Those are original 105.012 pushers so it's not just a wrong case back.

I'd be ordering an extract quickly. You'll probably get an email back fairly quick saying they can't issue one, which is code for the movement doesn't match the case.

Could this simply be a mix up at some time and the wrong case back got back? Or a movement was replaced during a service in the early years? What other tale tell signs are there between 105.012 and 145.012?

David is right. I think you have a replaced later Movement in a Reference it can't have come with. I don't see any other options here, the 26xxx is not even near any 105.012.

Cosmetically everything's looks correct for a 105, it's just the movement serial. The movement itself looks good with uniformity on the colours of the various plates.

I'd its most likely the movement was swapped at some point.

I asked the seller about this and he said they missed it during the photoshoot, it is a matter and tugging it back in before sealing it.
