    Hello All,

Been reading for a while, great forum, but never had the chance to grow my Omega ownership until recently.

Could I get your view on the 70's Seamaster in this link from chrono24.com, please.
    http://www.chrono24.com/en/omega/se...b=pics&urlSubpath=/omega/seamaster--mod66.htm

166.0202 didn't seem right as the Omega vintage archive showed different case and different jewels?
Too good to be true etc rings hard here, but I really love the blue dial.

    Fake? Mix of parts, typo?

    Your views really appreciated.

    Regards

That's a junk grade watch with a pretty poor redial, they are often called a "Mumbai special" as they're put together in India, as you can see on the listing that seller is in fact, in Mumbai. Avoid it completely mate.

Wow! That was quick and easy! :)
Do you mean junk grade as in it's not even an Omega at all!?

What's your price range and what kind of models are you looking at?

Metallic blue dials like that by the way are almost always a redial.

My budget is about £3k to £3.5k... I was starting to consider a range of older watches rather than all my money into one other.
I have two currently, a large case 90s Seamaster Chrono and a Planet Ocean.
I'm big wristed, the large watches don't look large at all on me, but slimmer or dress watches look a bit twee IMHO.

If I collect I will wear, I don't and can't do display only.

    Cheers

I feel I ought to justify the potential budget against that lowers cost watch being enquired of... I hadn't heard of the Mumbai specials and the thought of easily adding 5 or 6 watches for the budget appealed lots.

Too good to be true as it happens.

    Back to planning. Blast.

You can get 5 or 6 quality vintage omegas for your budget. You'll have to be careful and patient, but a couple of nice Seamaster and Connies, may be a dynamic and a chronostop all would leave you with a chunk left over. Start off spending some time in the wruw thread and on the vintage sale forum here to see what's possible.

I could be wrong but i think the dial is a later replacement and not original to the watch (no T before and after swiss made) and I also believe the bezel to be a later replacement, it looks too new and can be bought on ebay easily. And the price is very high even for an all original watch in this condition.
why don't you take a look at the for sale forum here? sellers on this site seem to be far more honest than the ones you are finding.
