We had a pretty decent amount of rain this past week and yesterday I went out to a local place called forty foot hole and saw the results of heavy rains. Normally you can walk across the bottom of this as the water is typically only a few feet wide and very shallow.

Looks like a very pretty place.

I live outside Dallas, and our Trinity is an actual river now!

This is only about three hours from you. So y'all have been getting a bit of rain too huh? Last time I was in the vicinity the Trinity wasn't much of a river.

I must live "south of" in between each of you, being an hour south of Abilene. We've been having much needed rain here too.

We're originally from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This was a locally popular tune on the radio, composed to make a statement at a time when some in Dallas were pushing a scheme to dredge the Trinity in order to make some sort of inland port out of Dallas. Every once in a while the chorus vaguely runs through my mind like some 40 year-old ghost of an earworm. It's one of those songs for which you'd just have to live in the region to understand.
