Hi friends heading to Munich salzburg vienna and prague...any nice vintage watch stores in those cities? Thanks Erik
I used to go to Munich for business....i'd always make 30 mins to visit http://www.worldoftime.de/ Not been for +5 years though, i'm sure it's still well worth a visit. Take some cash though
Yep it's worth a look but they always ask top money, they always had an amazing selection of vintage Daytonas whenever I was in there.
Munchen in old city is probably 15 vintageshops of quality and some private galleries you find anything there but its one of the more expensive places also check if mr Armborsts watch show Uhrenbörs is up belive every 6 weekend more or less and thats the jackpot for vintage. Salzburg is beautiful but altso a tourist trap u nead to be lucky better of enoying Wienna i guess antique district for hunting and by stefansplatz for brousing expensive.
Don't suppose you have a list of the best places to go look? I'm there late evening 6th - lunchtime on the 8th... Working but a few hours to spare on the morning of the 7th for watch tourism!
I'm heading there on the 9th so good timing for this thread http://www.bachmann-scher.de is not far from Meertz.
Visiting Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, and Prague I would reevaluate my priorities. I would forgo watch hunting and focus on eating. And don't forget dessert....
If you're heading to Vienna it's worth popping into the Dorotheum in the centre. They have both watch auctions and weekly auctions which include watches and you can find some good buys, I picked up a Smiths WWW and a lovely Omega cal. 266 there. There were also several dealers in the centre of town when I lived there up to 2006.
I concur...eating is what I focused on at first... Then cars... Then more eating...and drinking... Then eventually watches...
IN Munich, seek the PrannerStrasse. There you will find the object of your quest. No less than 4 watch shops within about 100 yards of one another. The rest of your itinerary is a vintage watch write-off.
