He could have just worn a GMT

I believe Sir Lewis has bigger problems to worry about, like why is he being outdriven by his less experienced team mate? And why MB is non-competitive this season.
Not really… Lewis has driven a bit better on average and taken more of a random hit due yellows and pit timing. Even George has admitted that.

Also if anyone is critical of Lewis, it’s pretty empty and hypocritical if your not equally pissed about what Vettel did.

if you don’t know what Vettel also did in protest then you also shouldn’t be critical of what Lewis did.

A GMT won’t be able to display 3 different time zones simultaneously. An Apple Watch would.😀

A GMT can display three time zones: the hour hand, the 24-hr GMT hand, and the bezel can be rotated.

@M'Bob

From our other debates, I don't think you are aware that your private life and professional life constantly intersect. This is especially, painfully true when it comes to written words on a public forum--- Another word, anyone who chooses to f you over can easily do so (your boss, x-wives, co-workers, clients). That's the reality we live in. Don't let them.

I'm retracting my comments to your post. You can decide if you want yours public.

3 minutes to start of Qualy: I bet you one OF Credit (a virtual currency) he's about 7th.

And for another OFC, George is third.

Well, you were right about Hamilton...he's P6. But way off on Russell at P12. So it's a wash, 👍

Lewis should try living in Yemen or some hot parts of Ukraine and then he really would have something to complain about....

you’ld both maybe need to be a bit more specific

he said “simultaneously”

technically he is correct that very few GMT watches simultaneously “display” 3 time zones.

*the exceptions would be either (1) a 24hr movement with both a third 24hr GMT hand and a 24hr bezel - I’m not sure offhand if this watch exists, or (2) a standard 12hr GMT watch with a set of 24hr indexes on both the dial and the bezel - a few of these watches exist, such as the GS SBGE275

otherwise, GMTs like the GMT Master II only “display” 2 time zones at any one time (one must rotate the bezel to and from any 3rd time zone); that, or one must imagine a 24hr index on the dial

Clearly wearing three watches instead of a triple time zone GMT is the poor man's choice!

he's got much bigger problems than jewelry.

I wonder if the FI ban on jewelry is safety related, in case of fire? I recall a few NHRA and IHRA tracks requested us drivers of 7 second door cars to remove any jewelry before making a run.

as I understand it the “rule” has been there for years, unenforced and ignored. and it is being now revived, and amplified for enforcement by additional penalties, yes all under the marketing banner of safety.

however, I would guess there is some sentiment/suspicion that the marketing of safety is either in whole or in part subterfuge for less laudible motivations, and/or instead simply silly rules for rules’ sake behavior. not an unreasonable suspicion, given that there’s not been some recent and material safety event involving jewelry, has there?

Wouldn’t be the first time a sport’s governing body looked to subdue - let’s call it - its more flamboyant participants whom the governing body felt did not fit the aspirational vision of its sport.

the safety aspect does give good cover, though!

so (your boss, x-wives, co-workers, clients)….anyone who chooses to f you over… I guess that makes the Governments job easier, but if all else fails they do now have technology to fall back on to control any wrong think (or just freeze your bank account).

it means his winning mentality is, bold and loud.
for 100 grands of wrist bling, He gets $3-5M of media coverage.
That's a huge win for F1. I say the program needs all the help it can get, really.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to say the F1 program needs all the help it can get. Seems to me they're doing all right, but I could be wrong. Personally, I found the way he presented at the press conference as ridiculous; another spoiled athlete who feels he's above any rule he doesn't like.

It’s fairly simple to “imagine” where the GMT hand is pointing.

Speaking as a former athlete, what we detest the most (spoiled or not) is inconsistent application of rules. Hamilton (and others) have raced for many years with the rule not being enforced, and now all of a sudden they decide to enforce it out of the blue. If you agree with the rule or not is another thing that can be discussed certainly, but this seems like rules being enforced "just because"...
