    The movement is also in very poor condition with broken regulator with parts missing entirely.

    Straight forward return, "item not as described"

    The regulator should have a swan neck, like this:

    ::facepalm1:: newbie fail
    But how can i argue "item not as described"
    on the basis of "very good condition"?

    Also caseback is for Ref. 2576 (Seamaster with subseconds), so that is not correct either.

    Looks like a broken frankenwatch.

    You probably could get out of the deal on the grounds that the watch is not exactly genuine. However, you are correct in that you should have asked about it in greater detail.

    It's really up to you.

    Can't possibly be in very good condition when parts are missing.
    Good luck whatever course you decide to take.

    Thanks guys. I will return.
    And I'll chalk this one up to experience and remember in future to always ask for opinions before bidding on the bay.

    In addition to what has been pointed out already, the rotor has been rubbing on the inside of the case back, and there is some black goop on the teeth of the crown wheel visible in one photo. So absolutely this will need both a service and repairs likely.

    I am sure most if not all of us have been caught out at some point, all part of the learning curve.
