Thoughts on the dial - original? Funky little design, have seen similar but not exact.
Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts!

The dial seems incongruous with the case. The case style and design certainly looks like those found on 1970s-era watches. What bothers me is the signature, and the lack of a logo. The signature on the OP watch resembles one from the 1940s or '50s, but I'm expecting to see a late 1960s or '70s logo, like these:

Thank you! I was definitely put off by the lack of logo on the dial, but since I am less familiar with UG as a whole, wanted to put out to the group Incase this was something they’ve done in the past.

The watch immediately puts me in mind of this model which regularly appears on Ebay.

All of the current available examples are manual rather than automatic but UG did make automatics throughout the likely period. Obviously I was hoping for a case with the classic two lines of numbers on the back but there are also legitimate watches that don't always have that - weren't they for the US market and cased locally? I'm not sure you can categorically dismiss the OP watch out of hand but there's still plenty of room for doubt.

Absolutely not a UG expert here, but I'd like to throw in a question for those who are:

Are you sure/would your opinion of this watch change if we were to say that case is a 1950s American design? How do the serial numbers match up with that supposition?
