You might use a reverse image lookup. Both google images and tineye.com have built in functionality. FWIW, I did a quick scan, and it looks like its a unique photo.

 

what makes you suspect a scam?

 

Ask for a new photo next to a piece of paper with today's date,etc.

Another photo shows it on a BBC news printout from 2 days ago.

He is reluctant to accept Paypal now so I don't think I'll risk it.

No not on eBay to my knowledge, I was contacted privately, but it may have been on eBay in the past (good source of photos for scammers I should think.)

Yep. Have seen that pic. Being offered at $3K. Which made me think scam. But hey, maybe a super fantastic deal. But looks off. A one post special, which is never good.

 

I just came across it. Like Joe Apa mentioned, it is from a 1 post poster and the price alone is too good to be true. I have no doubts that this is a scam.

No that wasn't where I saw this watch, even if it was the same listing/pics

 

The bezel alone is worth 1-2k. I was contacted privately about a speedy some guy was selling for 900$ and it looked too good to be true as well. I dismissed it as a scam when the seller came back to me offering to drop the price to 700$. Come to find out, it was legit. Watch needed a service but the seller was just on hard times. Most do not happen like this tho, ive had more scammers pm me that legit sellers.

I would assume this is a scam tho.

 

If your spider senses are tingling maybe best to listen to them.
