Remember my recent JLC Heraion incoming?

Turn out I am not the only one excited about it. My wife was also interested in this beauty.
At first she just complimented my choice: " I like it. Nice watch, simple and elegant design" :). I was happy as any WIS husband could hope for.
....next day she added some more: " It is beautiful, I like the hands and numeral.....by the way.... Isn't it Jaeger? You know they also produce beautiful jewellery watch?" ::confused2:: ......hmmm jewellery........

Few days later she browsed web for some pictures and said casually "...hey... you know white dial Jaeger with WHITE strap is nice...."
........uh...oh.... I sensed something not really right :cautious: .......then she continued " do you know where you can buy WHITE strap...which fit your Jaeger?"
Ohhh ::facepalm2:: now I knew where this is heading. So I just mentioned to her " Well, you can buy a nice one in eBay,but it will take a month or so...... or you can buy in our regular watch store, but generally they are lower quality....nothing like Hirsch or Hadley Roma. Don't even compare it with the original JLC strap." I think I have bought some times and make her forget a bit about it.

    How wrong I am....
This morning she pestered me to go to our regular watch store to buy 'white strap'. The seller took out a big box full of straps. There are of course the regular black, brown or dark blue straps. But do you know that almost two thirds are colorful straps choices?.....I am talking about pink, purple, orange, white, yellow, red........danger....danger.....:(
"How about brown croc or lizard strap?" I said desperately, hoping for some compromise so I still could use it without having change strap everytime I would like to wear it. "They are nice with yellow gold case and fit well for women.......see....try them...."
" Nope. Either white, pink or this yellow strap !"
You know how this end.....here they are:

JLC yellow strap front 2 (800x450).jpg

    In my happy wife wrist......

Oh well, at least I have several 'free pass' cards to buy more vintage watches

Bring her to Singapore - Hughes has a wide selection of red, mauve, yellow and orange leathers that would make great ladies straps. You'll also never wear your Heraion again ;-) but that gives you an excuse to buy a 2nd one!

It's 'significant other' attrition, and it's one of the prices of WISdom.

Thanks for the WIS tale :D I bought my wife two watches but it was the one on my wrist that she liked, so now that has become her favorite watch.

…. and Jaeger does seem to be the watch of choice for the wife of a WIS.

That's true, my wife also immediately took over my LeCoultre Memovox (21 years ago, when we met);)

Windy has tried to claim a few watches of mine, including an Omega bumper or two (which I allowed), an Audmemars Piguet, and a JLC (which I didn't). She still occasionally wants to wear the red/rose gold 1946 JLC despite the fact I bought her a couple lady's vintage Omegas.

If I have your Rosegold JLC, I think my wife would hijack it,too. Thank God, somehow Connie Deluxe and Grand Luxe do not make her interested.
